Snow snow snow!

Where are you snow? Oh yes you’ve came and gone :( At least I got some of you before you left. Ha.

(pictures upped later tonight!)

It’s been a while since I updated… soo let’s see, the big haps. Jan was full of visiting friends! Lots of people came up, I mean lots, maybe like 25 total? In Feb, I went to Napa with Neal Kate Dave and Theresa. Did the whole shabang and thought about how lucky I am to be able to do such things. The next week I went to Colorado for a week and skiied the best stuff so far this season. February also wasn’t a big moneymaker. That kind of brings us up to…

Last week, it dumped 90 inches! Dave came up Friday, and Andy and his friends spent the night on Sunday. We went to Opal to chill and saw some cool fire dances. Apparently I drank too much that night because I called in sick on Sunday. It seems I don’t know how drunk I am anymore when I drink, and my body can’t naturally cut myself off. I also tend to get really stupid when I drink, moreso now… weird? Anyway, Monday it dumped and I think I backlined that day too because there were so little kids and they were going to Cal. On Tuesday my day off, I went riding with Zoe Tom Maz and Matt. We rode pretty hard through the skiway glades, and then for the last run matt and i went down Firebreak, which ended up being an awesome awesome run. I dug a deep hole into my ski, though the run was worth it.

Wed I went to Kirkwood with Matt and Anita, and met up with Eva Joe Kim and Guilio. It was amazing. It was still snowing and I reckon the wood got another few inches that day. Wed was Employee appreciation day so all industry employees get to ski for free at the wood. SWEET! After skiing we went into the lodge to look for Eva, but she wasn’t there, however, Anita found a girl who was from Argentina and she told us that they were about to have a hamburger dinner in 10 minutes for only $1!!! So we snuck in and ate dinner for $1. In total, we skiied hard and got stuffed for just a buck. I love it.

Thursday was Vex, and wow, I ended up not going! I was beat and couldn’t get myself to go out. First time in a while. Friday was Burrito night at Marks, awesome as always. Went to Fish Taco night too at Rivas, but I didn’t win anything. Called it an early night because I was driving back to Davis after work on Saturday.

I got to Davis around 8 and met up with everyone at Cattlemen’s. Ate a delicious NY steak with scampi, had some so so appetizers and spent a pretty penny doing so. It was nice to catch up with some people, and talk about those crazy japanese movies. We went out that night to a couple house parties. I think I got drugged because I was the first one to pass out solid. I woke up to leave Evan’s house and then fell asleep in the 7 min car ride back to Betty’s and then fell asleep within 30 seconds. I slept from 3am to 1230, went to Plutos OH SO GOOD, chilled at Frank’s, and then left back to Tahoe. I got in at 545, unloaded, fell on my bed and didn’t get out until 330am. In the past 28 hours I: 18 hours slept, 4 hours drank, 1 hour ate, 2 hours drove, 2 hours chilled, or something like that.

And here we are, Monday, and I yet again backlined. A lazy day naturally, but did get a bunch of errands and stuff done, along iwth some much needed relaxing.

Windows Vista and how much Apple pinches

my nerves! The competition between the two operating systems is becoming like politics. And Apple is leading the way with their media and advertisements. The tech and computing industry never was like this before, but since Apple is trying to gain support from the people, they’ve resorted to firing away at Microsoft and using a little bit of negative advertising, wouldn’t you agree? It goes along the lines of Windows needs to undergo “surgery to upgrade” to Vista (whereas Macos doesn’t..? ), Windows users are nerdy and “dweeby” looking (and Apple’s aren’t?) etc etc.

Apple also claims that they have better everything from security, speed, visuals, etc, and Microsoft is stealing all their concepts. Apple also boasts that their OS has had constant significant upgrades whereas Microsoft has taken 5 years to upgrade since the release of XP. XP was actually upgraded to SP2, and if you compare the computing market shares of Apple and MS, you’ll notice that the time it takes to upgrade such systems is relative and realistic.

I am getting sick of hearing about Apple being better because their stuff looks cooler. Yes, Apple is innovative and has made some excellent excellent excellent products! I love macs. Well, some. But stop with the lame advertising already! It’s just gonna turn around and bite Apple in the ass before they know it.

Check out this article. I borrowed a couple support ideas and facts from it: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16934083/site/newsweek/

Also, how

sweet is this forecast? Time to break out the bsters…. and NOT scratch them.

New Photo Blog

Hey whatup! I got bored with a normal blog, so I thought why not start a photo one? Hit “Photo blog” above to see it…

In other news, I’ve been having 5 day weekends, and philosophical talks. I’m progressing my keen sense of sensing, and learned it’s not the greatest thing to have. I’ve realized I’ve lived stress free for about 10 months and counting. I’ve learned to like drinking Frappucino’s because it wakes me up in the morning and gives me energy in my day. I’ve learned I get stupid when I drink, or maybe its just the altitude. I’m creating my own reality, and don’t really feel like joining anyone else’s at the moment. But I do however want to meet other realities and see if the one I’m living is really that good.

And on the really bright side, I think I’ve lost my arachnophobia. But let’s not test that one just yet.

Reading

Reading is great, yes? So is working out, yes? But what about reading and working out at the same time? I think it’s ridiculous. How do you concentrate on what you’re reading? How can you stablizie your head and reading material to bounce at the same time so you don’t lose your line? Maybe it’s just me… I ADD totally when I am on the bike and I end up reading the same two sentences for about the entire time on the bike. I just don’t get how people can read and work out at the same time.

First Snow!

I was lucky to get a few runs in today. The weather is FREEZING, well, today was because of the crazy wind. I must get a face mask. However, the day after the storm was beautiful. Some of the runs were quite nice with powder, but some were squeaky with man made snow. It’s really nice to be able to walk across the street to go skiing now, instead of having to drive an hour and a half plus. Anyhow, here are some pictures.

The first is of the lift at Heavenly, and the second is on the ride from the Gondola.
Check out the lake.

TV Movies

A random thought for today. Why is it that whenever there is a movie showing on TV, it’s always the part that you’ve already seen?

Pretty Precipitation

It’s snowing. Finally. And it’s really pretty. I’m gonna taste some hopefully on Tuesday after the storm.

The little things inside your head

Hitch hiking-

In Europe it’s a great and safe way to get around cheap. In America, it’s a different story.. you gotta watch out for your safety. I passed a hitchhiker in Placerville tonight and almost stopped. I would have loved the company in the car, but something in me clicked and said keep going! What is it that said this to me? I find it frustrating to be held back from possibly great opportunities, by so many things inside our heads telling us what to do. I think that everyone should try one of theses things that you’re not supposed to do every so often. But being in the aware, of course.

I’d like to share one of my recent experiences. I was on a train in Morocco and the guy sitting next to me offered me chocolate and I immediately said no, without thinking. He ended up being a great friend and gave me the coolest birthday I’d ever had. He welcomed me into his home and I met his friends, ate with them and experienced part of what it was like to be Moroccan. It was awesome.

So I encourage you to try it sometime. Let me know how it goes.
