I broke into my own house tonight

I was actually productive today. It sucks my weekends are not really weekends for two reasons, it falls on a Tuessday and Wednesday, and, I am really starting to pick up on the upgrading work around the motel. At least I”m making headway, and I’m hoping tomorrow goes really well and I hook some contractors to actually do some work. It seems things are finally falling into place… and I’m wondering why it took so long.

Anyway today’s interesting highlight is me getting locked out of my place. I had taken my key off my keychain so I could lock the door and walk around the house with the contractors, neighbors, BMP’s, etc all day so I didn’t have to carry a huge chain in my pocket. At around 5, I got hungry so I went to the grocery store, bought some food, and as I was walking out of the store and grabbed my keys, I horrifically realized I didn’t have my house key. Shit. Nor did I have my phone. Double shit. I drove back home, ate my sandwich in my car, and headed over to see my neighbors. I borrowed their phone and called my management company but they had to look and call me back, so while I waited, I was introduced to this guy who said on the down low he could pick locks. So I asked him if he could come over and pick my lock so I could get inside. He said sure, and we went back to my place. He looks around the house, and says yeah I can get in. This window is easy to get inside. I just need a screwdriver. Well, it turns out he’s an ex-con. A real nice and honest guy though. Anway, by unscrewing three screws my window popped open and I climbed in. It took all of two minutes!!! Man I need to get some new windows even sooner than I thought! Anyway, thanks to him, I avoided paying a lot of money for a locksmith after hours, and I got an offer for him to safe proof my house later. What an evening!

Here’s a picture of a Vancouver sunrise.. :)
